For the second year in a row St. Al's swept first place in the All-Nighter Snow Statue competition, Special Events, and Overall for the Co-Ed's division!
This year's Winter Carnival theme was "Snow Cascades Across The Decades." For the all-nighter statue competition, St. Al's built a replica of the church as it was originally constructed, with the motto "An Icy Glimpse of '64 When St. Al's Opened Its Doors"

Thank you to this year's Winter Carnival Queen candidate representing St. Al's, Alexis Dani! Her Queens bio is below.
Hello fellow Huskies! I am from Sparta, MI and in my fourth year here at Michigan Tech. I will be graduating with a degree in Computer Engineering in December of 2017. I was so sure that Michigan Tech was the school for me, that it was the only university that I applied to. I haven’t regretted that decision as I am receiving a spectacular education while surrounded by an incredible, natural (mostly winter) wonderland. Throughout my time here I have enjoyed being involved with the Dance Team, Rotaract, Eta Kappa Nu (IEEE Electrical & Computer Engineering Honors Society), Blue Marble Security Enterprise, & various aspects of student life at St. Al’s. I am also looking forward to my broomball team crushing it this season (in the non-competitive league). Dance has always been a passion of mine and I am so happy to have had the opportunity to continue it with the dance team and as a performer in the Keweenaw Symphony Orchestra’s production of Swan Lake. When I am not studying or at my organization’s events, I enjoy adventuring in the Keweenaw by hiking, mountain biking (on the non-scary trails), & improving my skills as a (very) amateur photographer. I also love sewing, crocheting, & learning new craft skills. I am honored & excited to represent St. Albert the Great University Parish for the Winter Carnival Queens’ competition. Thank you also to Swift True Value Hardware for sponsoring my candidacy.
