These are different ways that you can participate and serve in the mass.
Lectors
Lectors (also known as readers) proclaim the readings at mass. There is a rotating schedule based on your availability and mass preferences. Training is also provided at the beginning of the semester or as needed.
Contact Kaleb Dorweiler (ktdorwei@mtu.edu) if you would like to become a lector or to learn more!
Altar Servers
An altar server arrives 20 minutes before mass to aid in set-up and then assists the priest throughout mass by holding items, bringing items to the altar, and ringing the bells at communion. There is no previous experience necessary but training is required before you start and is provided at the beginning of the semester or as needed. There is a rotating schedule based on your availability and mass preferences.
Contact Gabriel Glennon (gjglenno@mtu.edu) if you would like to become an altar server or to learn more!

Ushers/Greeters
The ushers welcome people coming into mass as well as hand out bulletins, ring the communion bell, orchestrate the collection, and bring up the gifts. This is another great way to get involved in the mass. There is a rotating schedule based on your availability and mass preferences. Training is also provided at the beginning of the semester or as needed.
