On June 2nd Dustin Larson, a Michigan Tech and St. Al's alumnus, was ordained to the Order of Deacon (Transitional) for the Diocese of Marquette at St. Peter Cathedral in Marquette, MI. God willing, he will be ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese next June. His home parish is St. Albert the Great.
Deacon Larson, a native of Kalamazoo, MI, studied computer science and mathematics at Michigan Tech, finishing his Bachelor's of science in 2011. He completed a Master's of Science in Computer Science at Tech in 2012 before entering Sacred Heart Seminary in Detroit to discern the priesthood.
During his years at Michigan Tech Deacon Larson was very active in a variety of ministries around St. Al's, including serving two summers as a Chapel Rat. He also worked as an RA in the residence halls at Michigan Tech for multiple years.
