Next year marks the 50th anniversary of the People's Park at St. Al's, promoted by Fr. Bill McGee, founding pastor. It was a meaningful outlet to honor the students who had been killed at Kent State. While the park is gone, the memories remain. “We diffused the energy by doing something positive,” says Ken Kamlay ’71. “Things like creating the park made St. Al’s important to me. There was a lot of healing that weekend. And, a lot of people at odds working side by side.”
