Richard was a FOCUS missionary for two years at St. Al's. After his time with FOCUS he has continued serving God in many ways.
Hear what she has been up to and a bit of life advice from Richard himself:
What is something that has stuck with you from your time as a missionary at St. Al's?
Looking back on my time at St. Al’s brings great joy to my heart. One thing from that experience that has stuck with me is the conviction that participation in Christ’s mission of evangelization is a great privilege, joy, and necessary element in my life.
How have you been able to continue to serve the lord in your life since?
By staying committed to Him in daily prayer and serving my family as a husband and father. Additionally, my wife and I have volunteered with different ministries at our parish. We helped with RCIA for a few years and we served as parish representatives at the Archdiocesan Synod Assembly. I currently lead a weekly men’s small group.
What advice would you give someone considering a missionary lifestyle?
Prayerfully ask, “What will best help me become a saint?”, and whatever the answer is, do it. In all you do, be sure to surrender everything to God and root your life in prayer. Make this your primary mission.
