Sr. Theresa Marie Moore, a 2001 Civil Engineering grad from Michigan Tech, professed her perpetual vows as a sister of the Parish Visitors of Mary Immaculate (http://www.parishvisitorsisters.org) on October 13, 2018.
Sr. Theresa Marie, who grew up in the Grand Rapids, MI, area, was involved at St. Al's during her time at Michigan Tech, and also enjoyed playing in the Keweenaw Symphony Orchestra. She worked as a structural engineer in the bridge and manufactured housing industries for almost ten years before joining the Parish Visitors of Mary Immaculate to discern religious life.
During a visit to Houghton in the spring of 2017 we were able to sit down with Sr. Theresa Maris for an impromptu interview about what led her from engineering to religious life, and what her day-to-day life looks like as a Sister. The interview is available in the player below.
