Study ministries are a great way to learn about the Catholic faith and dig deeper into scripture.
Bible Studeis
Bible studies are small groups that meet each week to grow in friendship and dive into the world of God. These groups are welcome to anyone interested in learning about the faith or how to grow in deeper relationship with Jesus.
FOCUS missionaries and student missionaries led these groups. Learn more about our FOCUS team, what bibles studies are about, and how to join here.
Bible Classes by Sr Jacqueline
Sr Jackie teaches bible classes every semester here at St. Al's as well as at St. Anne's. Students are welcome to attend either class.
There are also details about our Nun Runs (traveling to see local orders) and womens' retreats.
See this page for this semesters classes and other events by Sr Jackie!
Philosophy/Theology Club
This group reads a book every semester and meets in the St. Al’s meeting room to discus and understand the text better. Fall '22 they meet Wednesdays 6:30-7:30 pm and read Jesus of Nazareth by Pope Benedict XVI. People are welcome to join if you are interested even if you can't make every meeting. We are excited to also have Dr Bowler for the Philosophy department join us and give additional insight into many of the topics. Contact Patrick McFall (pdmcfall@mtu.edu) of more information or to join the email list.
This group will not be continuing in the Spring '23 unless there is more interest.
Totus Tuus
Totus Tuus runs over the summer and sends missionaries (college students and seminarians) throughout the UP to run an elementary and high-school summer program at differenet parishes. There is lots of information about Totus Tuus (meaning "totally yours") here which includes what it is all about as well as how to sign up a child or parish.
Students, being a Totus Tuus missionary over the summer is a fantastic way to grow your faith and discern. Please prayerfully consider being a part of this group. Contact Fr Ben (benjhasse@yahoo.com) if you have any questions. Also get more information here.
